(06:59 pm) A_of_s_t  -  @brood: The actual saying is "good is the enemy of great"
(04:06 pm) bajadulce  -  wow thats pretty deep for a shoutbox. Now I'll be thinking about that all weekend long.
(02:51 pm) BroodKiller  -  Remember baja what Voltaire said: "Better is the enemy of good" wink.gif
(09:25 pm) bajadulce  -  I thought I was finished with all my spell descriptions for my mod, but then discovered that the tag boxes can hold more lines of information. Now I want to redo all of them. $#@%&
(09:07 pm) bajadulce  -  k thnx kuddly_kitten. Just like the moddb and custom ai db, I put them in alphabetical order as well. No politics! smile.gif
(07/2 - 06:08 am) Killer_Kow  -  Baja, your modcrafters.com link on the left thingy is broken. You forgot the s tongue.gif
(07/1 - 09:54 pm) bajadulce  -  Nice replays. thnx for making. I'm trying to put together a resource page for newcomers and will be sure to include them
(07/1 - 12:21 pm) Archon_Wing  -  I'd think there'd be problems with defense placement, but the comp does it pretty well
(07/1 - 12:21 pm) Archon_Wing  -  The ai vs ai reps on Colloseum work very we;;
(06/30 - 08:53 pm) bajadulce  -  yep. it does.
(06/30 - 08:48 pm) bajadulce  -  BlankAI for 1.16.1 SCV incomplete rebuild. going to go check that it actually works now. tongue.gif
(06/30 - 07:36 pm) bajadulce  -  @ AWing. Give me a few minutes and I'll upload an exe for 1.16.1 that will allow the scv rebuild etc.
(06/30 - 07:32 pm) bajadulce  -  @ Mauron, my 1.16.1 offset37 appears to be wrong. edited post.
(06/30 - 02:32 pm) Archon_Wing  -  After all practically everyone plays these games for the multiplayer. But I suppose 3rd party mods will find their way around
(06/30 - 02:31 pm) Archon_Wing  -  Oh I understand tongue.gif It's just that I feel that there's no need to fix what's not broken. smile.gif
(06/30 - 02:06 pm) Killer_Kow  -  I'm not trying to be argumentative btw, more like I'm trying to rationalize Blizzard's decision.
(06/30 - 02:05 pm) Killer_Kow  -  Well, Blizzard seems more concerned about deterring pirates than people without (stable) internet connections; and multiplayer mods will be supported by Blizzard. I'm assuming that any version dependant mod will involve third party hacking of the game - which will not be supported by Blizzard anyway, so they wouldn't be worried about it.
(06/30 - 01:17 pm) Archon_Wing  -  Not to mention many people probaly play LAN when the internet is out/sucks
(06/30 - 01:10 pm) Archon_Wing  -  Wonder how multiplayer mods will be played then
(06/30 - 01:10 pm) Archon_Wing  -  I just think it's needlessly complicated, taking away a feature they previously had
(06/30 - 12:43 pm) Killer_Kow  -  Mind you, this is all speculation on my part and I really have absolutely no idea.
(06/30 - 12:43 pm) Killer_Kow  -  And it makes perfect sense - it allows players to take advantage of LAN play for minimal latency, and helps Blizzard reduce piracy.
(06/30 - 12:42 pm) Killer_Kow  -  Sort of baja - I'm guessing that they'll have some sort of functionality that players connected via a single router will be able to communicate with each other almost directly (for LAN-like latency, etc) so long as they are still connected to Battle.net.
(06/30 - 11:49 am) Archon_Wing  -  That doesn't make any sense lol
(06/30 - 10:38 am) bajadulce  -  So LAN would only work if you had an internet connection? Not sure I understand.
(06/30 - 08:41 am) Killer_Kow  -  I'm cautiously optimistic that there will be options for LAN on battle.net 2.0 - they specifically said they were not including LAN because of unannounced features in B.net 2.0.
(06/29 - 10:28 pm) bajadulce  -  That's too bad. Lan is an important feature. My first game of starcraft was over a direct cable with my nephew. We played 2 games vs. each other, but had no clue what either of us was doing. We then played a game vs a Zerg comp. We got smeared by the 150 mineral 4 pool. smile.gif AI = Single Player = no Lan needed.
(06/29 - 08:59 am) bajadulce  -  I'm experimenting with the forum layout if you haven't noticed. smile.gif I'm trying to redirect some of the general modding questions to Hercanics site. Mostly I was a little bored.
(06/29 - 08:53 am) bajadulce  -  tongue.gif it's still there. It wasn't supposed to be visible as I am still goofing around with it. *IF/when it comes back, it will be a subforum in Projects tho not a forum all its own.
